Veg Pizza Recipe | How to make delicious Veg Pizza?


Ingredients for Pizza Dough:

  • ½ cup warm water

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cups refined wheat flour

  • 1 tsp dry yeast

  • salt to taste

  • water as required

Indgredients for Sauce:

  • 5-6 Medium Tomatoes

  • 2 teaspoon minced garlic

  • ¼ cup olive oil

  • ¼ cup water

  • Crushed black pepper


Ingredients for toppings:

  • ¼ cup black olives (chopped)

  • 9 pickled jalapeños (or as required)

  • ¼ cup capsicum (roughly chopped)

  • 3 tbsp onion (roughly chopped)

  • 5 mushrooms (thinly sliced)

  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese (grated)

  • ½ tsp oregano / Italian seasonings / mixed herbs


Instructions:


  1. In a large mixing bowl, take warm water, sugar, and dry yeast.

  2. Mix it properly.

  3. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes.

  4. Now add refined wheat flour, salt, and olive oil.

  5. Knead the dough by adding water as required.

  6. Tuck the dough and make a ball. Place it in a large mixing bowl.

  7. Cover it and let it rest for at least 2 hours.

  8. After two hours, punch the dough with your fist to release the air.


Recipe for making the sauce:


  1. You can choose to either chop the tomatoes (500 grams or 5 to 6 medium tomatoes) and use them fresh to make the sauce, or blanch them first and then add them to a blender. Blanching will reduce the cooking time, but is not necessary for making a delicious sauce.

  2. Crush the raw or blanched tomatoes in the blender to make a puree that is as smooth or chunky as you like for this pizza recipe.

  3. Next, in a large saucepan heat ¼ cup olive oil, and add 2 teaspoons minced garlic. Sauté and stir for some seconds to soften the garlic.

  4. Now add the tomato puree, and mix well.

  5. Continue stirring and let the tomatoes cook for 5 minutes.

  6. Add salt as needed. Mix and stir.

  7. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the tomato sauce on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes have softened. If the sauce looks too thick you can add ¼ cup water. Then cover and continue to cook.

  8. Simmer until the tomatoes have completely cooked and the sauce has thickened.

  9. Stir in herbs and crushed black pepper.

  10. Mix the sauce well and set aside.

  1. Place the dough on a dusted pizza plate or tray.

  3. Once stretched to the desired size, gently place the pizza base in the greased baking pan. Be careful not to tear the dough, as it is very soft and stretchy.

  4. Then prick the center of the dough with the help of a fork.

  5. Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the surface of the crust with olive oil.

  6. Then, spread the tomato sauce on the pizza in a thin, even layer. Leave about an inch of dough around the outer edge free from sauce for a perfect pizza crust.

  7. Top the sauce with a handful or two of shredded mozzarella cheese.

  8. Place your choice of veggies on top of the cheese. Make sure to spread the toppings evenly, and sprinkle Italian seasonings.

  9. Bake the veg pizza in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese melts and the crust is golden.

  10. The pizza is ready to be served!
